On Saturday, March 3, 2023 the FSA 3 West District Directors kicked off the inaugural FSA District Event at Cigar City Brewery in Tampa, FL. Originally planned for March 2020, but delayed due to the pandemic, the directors were excited to be able to host this in-person event! All anesthesiologists and trainees in the district were invited to attend. The Directors and a diverse group of over 15 FSA members and non-members met, including physicians new to the district, local practice leaders, and trainees. Everyone enjoyed appetizers and beverages in Cigar City’s Taproom, and the directors talked about FSA’s member benefits, advocacy efforts, and how to get more involved. Attendees were grateful for the opportunity to meet in this local setting. They shared a variety of reasons for attending the event, including: networking with colleagues in the area; getting to know more about the local medical community; recruitment to their practices; trainees sought clinical rotation and job opportunities; and others reported they came to learn more about FSA. The event was a huge success!
